Part lo-fi art-rap, part sequel to Songs For..., all tribute album to my kids.

This album came about through some weird circumstances. Mama Young's Son was supposed to be my last album, but then I kept listening to the DAR sessions we did around that project and said "hey, these are kinda dope, let's use them." That's where "Gangsta Walk Cypher" and "Rant 03" came from.

The rest? I wanted an album that my kids could look back on and say "dang, my dad's been through it, but it's because of us, our mom, and his will to be better that he's been able to make it this far."

I've got a long way to go to be the greatest of anything, but I'm here for it.

Don't call it a comeback, though. Why? Because I'm sure there's another album in me, at least.

Included on the Bandcamp version of Papa Speed's Boys is a new, straight-from-the-"booth" version of a classic J Dot Speed track, "Snap on 'Em." My UMD heads may remember this one--at least the beat.

I did recycle a verse, though, from "Fuck Outta Here." Shrug. Most of you never heard that song, anyway, so...it might as well be new to you.
